Our panels leave the factory site-ready. Through our fastening and connecting methodology, we can quickly connect our panels together onsite, which is how we can achieve a fully standing home within a number of days.
How It Works
The technology we use creates a super-efficient and comfortable home that uses minimal energy to stay warm or cool. We aim if possible to orient our homes in relation to the sun to achieve maximal energy-efficiency.
Ekōwhai panels also implement continuous airtightness, where our homes are sealed tightly to prevent air leakages, moisture problems and draughts. No cold or hot air can sneak in.
All windows and joinery in Ekōwhai homes are uPVC double-glazed. This allows lots of sunlight into the home to obtain solar free gains, without compromising our regulated internal temperature.
We also utilise a high-quality ventilation system, providing fresh clean regulated air at all times. Regardless of the climate outside, our homes stay one consistent temperature all year round.
Our wall panels also implement a ‘breathing-like’ technology, preventing any moisture and ensuring no mould is present in the home. This ensures people living in Ekōwhai homes are better protected from respiratory disease (which is correlated with traditional poor housing in New Zealand).
Our Panel System
The Ekōwhai panel system is a comprehensive prefabricated wall solution, manufactured in precise factory conditions, where all variables are controlled. We deliver the full package – including structural timber framing, plasterboard lining, a bracing board and vapour barrier, wood-fibre insulation board, cellulose insulation and a weather barrier membrane. All of these elements comprise our one singular panelised wall system, that we deliver and install to create a high-quality energy-efficient home.
